Are diamonds a girl’s best friend? This piece comprised of gold and chemical happiness (antidepressors, Prozac, Zoloft etc.) is an attempt at resolving a common question: Will the promised enlightenment and glory of material gain ease all ailments or are more draconian means necessary? All the riches in the world might suffice to quench the thirst for satisfaction, and yet... Synthetic mood control flourishes, especially in the wealthiest environments. The genesis of this work originates in a reflection on the insatiable desire for acquisition and the therapeutical qualities of consumerism.
